Job Summary
Provides consultative investment advisory services to institutional clients—foundations, endowments, nonprofits, and retirement plans—across investment policy, asset allocation, manager selection, alternatives, and performance measurement. Also builds relationships with prospective clients and referral sources to support firm growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional client service and support business development through prospecting, COI engagement, and proposal generation.
  • Provide tailored investment advice aligned with each client’s goals.
  • Actively contribute to team thought leadership in institutional consulting and investments, with expertise in asset allocation, governance, philanthropy, investment/spending policies, capital structures, and regulations.
  • Offer strategic investment guidance consistent with Goelzer’s philosophy and outlook.
  • Maintain proactive relationships with clients, including boards and committees, and conduct regular portfolio reviews.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to ensure alignment with investment policies.
  • Assist in new business acquisition via RFPs, relationship expansion, and internal/external collaboration.
Work Experience / Knowledge
  • 5–10 years with an investment advisory or consulting firm.
  • Business development or B2B sales experience preferred.
  • Strong background in institutional advisory and portfolio management.
  • Solid understanding of capital markets, asset classes, indices, alternatives, performance attribution, and analytics.
  • Skilled in presenting complex topics to boards and committees.

  • Passion for continuous learning and industry research.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); CRM experience preferred (Salesforce, Dynamics, etc.).
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of producing high-quality work under pressure.
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, judgment, and poise.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferred: Economics, Finance, Financial Planning, Statistics, Mathematics).
  • Coursework in Behavioral Sciences and Communications is a plus.
  • CFA, CIMA, or CAIA designation highly desirable.
