Job Summary: The accountant is responsible for the firm’s day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This role includes weekly accounts payable processing, monthly account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and preparation of financial statements with meaningful analysis. The accountant will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to support financial accuracy, compliance, and data-driven decision making for a growing organization. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, strong Excel proficiency, sound judgment, and the ability to think critically while managing multiple priorities. 

Key Responsibilities: Provides comprehensive accounting and financial support, including reporting, analysis, audit preparation, and benefit-related administration.
  • Review, process, and manage accounts payable, including responding to and investigating vendor inquiries 
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and maintain detailed supporting schedules using advanced Excel functionality such as XLOOKUP, pivot tables, IF statements, charts, and financial models 
  • Execute month-end close activities and prepare financial statements with analysis of budget-to-actual and prior-year variances 
  • On a quarterly basis, prepare billing, commission calculations, and related cash flow and reporting schedules 
  • Prepare schedules and provide documentation to support the annual audit process 
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of required employee communications related to the 401(k), ESOP, and benefit plans 
  • Develop and maintain financial models, ad hoc analyses, and special projects as requested
Work Experience / Knowledge:
  • One to three years of relevant accounting experience 
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 
  • Public accounting audit experience preferred 
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUPs, charts, and financial modeling 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while collaborating effectively with a team 
  • Ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 
  • Demonstrated professionalism and commitment to confidentiality 
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting required
